We believe voters should make informed decisions. To that end, we sponsor education events around topics that affect our community. Our Planning Committee facilitates the detailed planning of these public forums.
COMMUNITY Education Events
Several times a year, the Planning Committee organizes public education events for topics of interest to the community. The topics are wide ranging; recently, topics have included saving salmon, immigration, opioid use disorder, and the spread of disinformation. Sometimes the Planning Committee is completely responsible for planning all aspects of the events (recruiting speakers, obtaining the venue, publicity, etc.), and other times the Planning Committee works in partnership with other League committees.
