Meetings

Meetings are on the fourth Wednesday of the month at 10am.

Instead of our normal monthly meeting in September, we have a special event discussing the creation of a WA state public bank at the normal date/time:

Don’t forget to attend the September 22, 2021 meeting at 10 a.m. via Zoom to hear a presentation by Stoney Bird, Ruth Fruland, and Dick Conoboy on SB5188.

SB5188 proposes the establishment of a public bank funded by local, state, and tribal governments. As proposed in SB 5188, the institution would not be a lender for the general public, but for governmental entities that form its membership. This bank would be used as a source for funding infrastructure projects within the state, and five years after its formation, the goal is to “direct 35% of its lending to support housing in low- to moderate-income areas.”;

The League of Women Voters of Washington has taken a position in favor of SB 5188.
