Decline of Local News Consensus Process

Consensus Process

“Without League member consensus (agreement) there can be no position and with no position there can be no advocacy which is what we’re all about.”

Decline of Local News Study by League of Women Voters of Washington

It’s time to “study the study” to determine if our Local league agrees with the issues identified in the study. Your unit will be having one or more consensus discussion meetings.  Our League must let the state League know if we agree.

Materials

Please look over these three documents to prepare for these discussion meetings:

Please note: the study is long – 133 pages! If you can’t bring yourself to read the entire report, please at least read the Preface and Executive Summary (10 pages in all) and the section called “Quick Takes” which summarizes the entire report in three pages, starting page 76.

If you a prefer a paper copy of these materials mailed to you (133 pages), make your request here.

Do you have questions about how the League’s consensus process works? Watch “Consensus Process Overview”:

Thank you for being an active League member by participating in this important activity.
