Candidate Forum: Bainbridge Island City Council

Watch candidates for the Bainbridge Island City Council answer questions submitted by the community.

Candidates for Bainbridge Island city council were invited to participate in a League of Women Voters of Kitsap candidate forum via Zoom Webinar on October 13, at 6:30 pm. This is the recording of that forum.

Candidates are:

North Ward, District 2: Brenda Fantroy-Johnson, Chris Smith
South Ward, District 3: Jon Quitslund, Kent Scott
Central Ward, District 5: Clarence Moriwaki, Rasham Nassar
North Ward, District 7: Joe Deets, Ron Peltier

We thank our candidates for offering their skills and talents in service to our city. They deserve our respect, and we asked them to maintain civility with one another during this forum.

Questions were submitted to the League by voters through our website and were consolidated into questions asked by our moderator, Jackie Bailey. The questions covered a range of topics and issues pertinent to the Bainbridge Island. Each candidate was be given 90 seconds to make an opening statement in the order in which their name appears on the ballot. Then each candidate answered a series of questions, in a rotating order, and was given 60 seconds to respond. At the end of the forum, each candidate had 90 seconds to make a closing statement.

The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization and does not support or oppose candidates or political parties. However, we do support good governance and an educated electorate, which is why we sponsor these forums.
