Every 10 years, Washington State voting-district maps can change, based on new Census information. Voting district lines drawn in 2021 will determine how strong a voice each voter has in coming elections for the next decade.

We did an outstanding job in Kitsap County with getting a full count on the 2020 Census. Now that information will be put to use in establishing fair representation and federal budget allocations for our Kitsap County communities. Find out how they do it!
LWV Kitsap Redistricting Listening Session Mapping Party
In May 2021, The League of Women Voters of Kitsap’s Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Committee sponsored a redistricting listening session/mapping party to explore how Kitsap County legislative lines might be redrawn to better represent our residents. The city or Bremerton is split into three districts, which is counter to the guidelines for drawing districts. With the help of Alison McCaffree–Executive Director, Politics of the Possible in Action, LWVWA Census & Redistricting Issue Chair–attendees considered how the 2021 Kitsap County legislative districts could be reconfigured for better representation. The lines drawn this year will be in place for the next ten years.
