This will be the business portion of the Annual Meeting, from 10:30-noon. It will be followed by a lunchtime Zoom Webinar at 12:30 p.m. with keynote speaker Justice Montoya-Lewis (details here). All LWVK members are encouraged to attend both!
Meeting details
We hope to see all members of our League at our Annual Meeting on May 19. This year, it will be on Zoom like last year, but with a difference. We will conduct our business meeting from 10:30 a.m. to noon on the Zoom meeting platform. This is the important time of year when we elect new officers, approve a budget for 2021-22, amend our bylaws and adopt a program after discussion (see a detailed schedule included with the May Voter). Guests are welcome at the meeting, but only members may vote. Pre-registration is required, and we need to make sure we have a quorum (15 percent of the membership of 205 or 31 people) before we conduct business.
We will adjourn the business meeting about noon and invite everyone to sign out and then sign in again at 12:30 p.m. for our keynote speaker, Justice Raquel Montoya-Lewis of the Washington State Supreme Court. This part of the event will be a Zoom Webinar and will not require pre-registration.(Here’s the link to the 12:30 p.m. event with Justice Montoya-Lewis, where you can read more details and get the Zoom link.) We will invite the general public and hope to encourage local elected officials, attorneys, judges and tribal members to attend.
